Mary Ann Barringtonwas born in Rosetown, Ireland, June 23, 1832. Atthe age of fifteen years she came to America and made her home with a sister, Mrs. John Dillon, at Wineconnie, Wis. There she was married to Aaron P. Hyatt June 5, 1852. They lived for a time in Oshkosh, then moved to Dayton, Waupaca county, settling on the farm now owned by Frank Calkins, several years later moving to the village of Rural, where she lived until the the summer of 1905, when she sold the old home and went to live with her children in the west, spending part of her time with each one. Mr. and Mrs. Hyatt were earnest Chistians from early life and devoted members of the Presbyterian church, being active in the organization of the society and the erection of the church building in Rural. Mrs. Hyatt peacefully passed from this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs C.C. Simmonson, Billings, Mont., aug 15,1919. A loving wife, a devoted mother and a true hearted friend has gone to her eternal reward.

She is survived by one brother ans two sisters, four daughters and 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The daughters are Isabelle, Mrs. S. Hinxton, San Francisco, Cal,; Ida, Mrs. R.B. McMillen, San Francisco, Cal.; Loveda, Mrs. H. W. Hogue, Seattle, Wash,; Katherine, Mrs. C.C. Simonson, Billings Mont.
She was precedded to the life beyond by her husband twenty-nine years ago. The funeral was held in the Presbyterian church at Rural Wednesday, Aug 20, Rev. Lane officiating and internment was beside her late husband in Rural cemetery. Many old friends and relatives of Dayton where the deceased lived for more than fifty years were present to pay there respects to the memory of a departed friend and neighbor. Mrs Simonson who accompanied the remains was the only one of the four daughters who could be present at the last rites."
